Our Staff

James & Katie Foster

The Fosters have been in the greater Austin area since 2012 serving the local church and prayerfully planning to plant this church.

James and Katie served at Wells Branch Community Church for ten years as community group shepherds. James  completed his Masters of Theology, ThM, at Dallas Seminary in 2021. James also served as an Elder and Pastor from 2017-2022 before joining the Hutto Bible staff as Pastor and Church Planting Resident in July of 2022.

James and Katie are passionate about building authentic community on mission. They long to see Taylor experience the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ by living out their faith alongside other Christ followers.

Joey & Julie Porter

Joey joined as our Worship Pastor in August 2025.  He is originally from New Mexico and moved to the Austin area in 2015. Shortly after moving, he met his wife, Julie, and they have three children together. Joey and Julie moved to Taylor in 2022.

Joey has been serving in worship ministry since early 2002 when he felt God call him to lead others in authentic worship. Joey is passionate about leading the church to set their mind's attention and heart's affections on Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

That every man, woman, and child in Greater Taylor would have the chance to hear and respond to the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ because they hear the gospel from the lips of someone at Taylor Bible Church.

Association Of Hill Country Churches

Taylor Bible Church was planted in Taylor, TX in October, 2023 as part of a movement of churches who desire to impact Greater Austin with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first Hill Country Bible Church was started in 1986 as one church of 17 believers and has grown into a movement of thousands of growing disciples engaged in over 25 vibrant churches throughout Greater Austin and beyond.

Our association of churches has a three-pronged strategy to reach the millions of men, women, and children who call Greater Austin their home:

  1. Individual Responsibility: multiplying disciples
  2. Corporate Responsibility: planting spiritually vibrant and strategically located churches
  3. Regional Responsibility: partnering with like-minded ministries. Our church has participated in church-planting since 2009.

Our Legacy:

Taylor Bible Church is a fourth-generation church plant in the Association of Hill Country Churches (AHCC), a gospel-centered network committed to saturating Greater Austin with church-planting churches.

Our story is part of something bigger: God’s desire to reach every
person in Greater Austin and beyond with the good news of Jesus Christ. From the beginning, we have believed that the local church is God’s Plan A for making disciples, building communities of hope, and reaching the next generation. We don’t just want to plant churches, we are committed to planting church-planting churches that reproduce themselves and bring the gospel to new places.
