The Fosters have been in the greater Austin area since 2012 serving the local church and prayerfully planning to plant this church.
James and Katie served at Wells Branch Community Church for ten years as community group shepherds. James completed his Masters of Theology, ThM, at Dallas Seminary in 2021. James also served as an Elder and Pastor from 2017-2022 before joining the Hutto Bible staff as Pastor and Church Planting Resident in July of 2022.
James and Katie are passionate about building authentic community on mission. They long to see Taylor experience the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ by living out their faith alongside other Christ followers.
Taylor Bible Church is a Non-Denominational Bible Church that believes in and is based upon the historic Christian faith. Doctrine matters, because what we believe influences who we are and what we do. This isn’t just true of us as a church, but this is true of us as individuals.
The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible, as revealed to us in the Old and New Testaments, is our final authority and without error in its original manuscripts.
The Trinity
We believe in One God who exists eternally as three co-equal, fully divine persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe that God Incarnate, Jesus Christ, is both fully God and fully human at the same time.
The Human Race
We believe that every person has inherent worth and value because they are created in the image of God, and yet that every person is a sinner by nature and by choice and unable to justify themselves before God based on their own deeds.
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus died in our place for our sins, was buried, and then was physically resurrected to new life.
Salvation
We believe that people are reconciled to God and reborn to eternal life by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ and not as the result of any human efforts.
The Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth in the future to finalize His work of redemption and restoration.
Gospel Saturation.
We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. Colossians 1:28 (NASB)
Our hope is to get the gospel of Jesus Christ to every person, regardless of their gender, age, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, language, educational level, and life-choices. Every man, woman, and child matters to God and should matter to us.
Geographic Ownership.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Just as Jesus called His disciples to a geographic region, so Jesus has put us in Greater Taylor at this time in history for a reason. We hope to reduce the lostness of our geography during our time on this earth on mission with Jesus Christ.
Gospel Demonstration & Proclamation.
The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:46-47
We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is most effectively communicated life-on-life, from one person’s mouth to another person’s ears. This requires that we personally engage those disconnected from Christ, clearly know the gospel, regularly proclaim the gospel, and equip others to do the same.
Personal Responsibility.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
Everyone who has been redeemed by Christ is called by God’s Word to share the good news of Jesus’ saving work with a dying world. Rather than look to a certain group of Christians to evangelize, we all need to take personal responsibility for our spheres of influence.
